A Little About Myself
Maranda Yeary: Artist/Owner

Abstract Artist & Painter of Galaxies
I began painting as a form of therapy. It became such an influential part of my life that I enrolled into Art School majoring in Interior Design. I will always enjoy creating & designing beautiful spaces for others, but my first love is painting in all forms & mediums. As a single mother, I paint as often as I can find the time, it's a way to relax & provide extra income for my family.

My Artist Statement
"My emotions are my largest source of inspiration."
-Maranda Yeary
“I was never the best at controlling my emotions, everything I felt was felt with passion, so my emotions were always written all over my body. Until I found Art. Painting helped me take that passion & over abundance of empathy I possessed out of myself & use it constructively rather than let it damage myself or those around me. Any battles I fought, fears that I had, joys I experienced were transferred from my inner-self into my art through whichever mediums felt the most relevant. Painting became my anti-depressant. My way of healthy expression, my therapy. It helped me through every tragedy, every heartbreak, every triumph. It saved my life on multiple occasions. I see the world differently now. I hear it differently.
My work is my interpretation of that & my goal as an artist is to inspire others to to do the same when viewing it. To remind people of the importance of empathy & expression in today's world. To put yourself into your interpretation of my work. To let it help you feel the joys i felt in the yellows & pinks & greens, the sadness in the blues & greys, the emptiness in the deep blacks & purples. To assign each color to the emotion you feel when you see it. That is why my work is so eclectic and not limited to a particular style, genre or technique. It’s just my inner self trying to escape. It’s spray painting a galaxy when im stuck in my darkness wishing I could leave this planet. It’s the abstract complexity I feel in color when I listen to a song that truly gets to me & why many of my pieces are named after the songs that inspired them. It’s the bright swelling of both pride and fear I feel when I watch my children grow and create their own paths in this questionable world. It’s all of me: my darkness and my light.
I want my art to help you celebrate all aspects of life & the marks it makes on the world in a more open and abstract way. I want it to pull you out of any darkness you may be experiencing as it did with me. Treasure the good, the bad, the eccentric, the terrifying, the ordinary & the unique: whatever is made out of feeling in a society that seems to be caring less about the lives & emotions of others. Respect what people have built or reaped for themselves even if you disagree. Find the beauty & the ugliness and see the strengths in them and the lessons they bring. We must always remember to love, encourage and support each other, because you never truly know who may be silently struggling.”

"Love of beauty is taste. The creation of beauty is art"
